...And I feel fine!
I was travelling out to go hunting this morning at O'Dark Thirty and a song came on the radio. It was a song I have heard probably a million and a half times over the last thirty years...in fact I had it on a tape cassette (remember those?) back in my freshman year. We had a contest where you had to memorize the lyrics and everyone put money in ......granted there was no internet then and you had to figure out the lyrics first.....I came in second in the contest....but it was a good song and fun to try and learn..... I wish I had spent the much time in high school learning...it would have helped.....
Well, here are the actual lyrics....I am sure you will be interested enough to read them all... Go into the playlist and select the song and get ready to refresh this page and start the song over.
That’s great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, don’t misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn’t coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it’ll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves it's
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Six o’clock - TV hour. Don’t get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mountains sit in a line.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...
(It’s time I had some time alone)

Four Point Four - The Sequel
Well, I am happy to say that there are a lot of sadistic people in Rochester, so my wife is not that crazy after all. I was able to finsh the race in 44 minutes, not bad for not having run in two years. My wife did the most amazing thing and gave up a respectable time to run with me. I had one goal in mind ....to run the entire race, but i had to walk for about a minute...it happened right around mile 3. My wife was great today. She stayed with me the whole way and kept me going. My Ipod on the other hand gave up on me again after mile 3. This is the fourth time the IPOD has frozen when I run. It hates running.
Four Point Four
4.4 miles may not seem that far if you are in a car or riding a bike, but to the average untrained and unwilling participant runner....that is way to far to run. I unknowingly signed up for the 4.4 mile Turkey Trot this month so that I could spend some quality time with my gorgeous wife. I thought Turkey Trot meant 5k....but apparently that is not enough diversity for these sadistic running bastards, so they made two flavors...2,5 and 4.4. And that is another thing....shouldnt it be 2.2 and 4.4.... Where do they come up with the extra .3 miles for the shorter race.....I will never understand runners or people who run for enjoyment anyways....but some things really dont make any sense to me....
I love my wife...But she hates the cold and rain...and she chose running to be one of her hobbies.
Well, I will let you know how well I do....or if I do.

Tag I am It...That is the understatement of the week.
So my wife sleeps next to me every single night, and feels the need to cyber-tag me because it is fun.....and it is fun.....but I don't have anyone to tag, because I don' follow any blogs at all....except my wifes.
So i am supposed to open a picture folder and select the fourth picture and tell the story.....so here is the picture
Now, this is a picture of one of my good friends and fellow volleyball players, Andrew Murtha. I know what you are thinking, or maybe not , He is a setter....but he is one of the good guys. The picture was taken in NYC where Andy used to work.
